Welcome! I'm Dallas W. Thompson, and I'm thrilled you're here.
If you've found your way to this blog, you probably know me as an author—someone who writes science fiction that questions reality, fantasy romance that explores the darkness and light of the human heart, philosophy that wrestles with consciousness, and children's books that spark curiosity about science and technology.
But this blog isn't just about my books. It's about the ideas, questions, and stories that shape how we see the world—and how we see ourselves.
Why I Write (And Why I'm Starting This Blog)
I've always been fascinated by the big questions:
- What is consciousness? Are we observers of reality, or do we create it?
- What makes us human? Is it our capacity for love, our ability to imagine, or something else entirely?
- How do stories shape us? Why do we crave narratives, and what do they reveal about who we are?
These questions drive my writing. They're why I explore simulated realities in my science fiction, moral complexity in my fantasy romance, and the nature of mind in my philosophy books. They're why I write children's stories that introduce young minds to the wonder of science and the power of curiosity.
But writing books is only part of the conversation. This blog is where I can dig deeper, share the ideas behind the stories, and connect with readers like you who are curious about the same things.

💡 This Blog Is a Conversation
I don't have all the answers. In fact, I have more questions than answers. But I believe the best ideas emerge through dialogue—through sharing perspectives, challenging assumptions, and exploring together.
So I hope you'll join the conversation. Comment on posts, share your own thoughts, and let me know what topics you'd like to explore.
A Little About Me
I'm an author of over 20 books spanning science fiction, fantasy romance, philosophy, and children's literature. My work explores themes of consciousness, identity, resilience, and the power of imagination.
Some of my books include:
- Science Fiction & Philosophy: The Observer-Reality Nexus, The Quantum Frontier, The Universal Mind
- Fantasy Romance: Crown of Shadows series, Bound by Shadows, Shadows of Desire
- Children's STEM: Zara's Robot Friend, Lilypad: A Coding Adventure, Pip & Squeak's Science Adventures
- Memoir: Against All Odds: Resilience and Triumph
You can explore all my books here, and find free STEM teaching resources here.
But beyond the books, I'm someone who's endlessly curious about the world. I love asking "what if?" and "why?" I believe stories have the power to change how we see ourselves and each other. And I'm convinced that the best way to understand anything—reality, consciousness, love, meaning—is to explore it from multiple angles.
That's why I write across genres. That's why I'm starting this blog. And that's why I'm so glad you're here.
What's Next?
